RAPE
by Lara Khatchikian
A night of your ordinary life like any other
Abruptly, you are awakened from your slumber
Hauled in rage out of the stillness of your mind
And raped brutally by an entity enraged and wild
You struggle, scream out loud, shout for mercy
With all your might, anger, force and fury
Stripped bare of all existence that embodies you
Your life force is sucked out… you try hard not to subdue
Tears of blood in your eyes, your once lively face disfigured
Emotions crushed, shattered, your mind to specks scattered
The creature holds you viciously in his blinded fuming gaze
No longer struggling, you senselessly transmute into a haze
Empty of feelings and thoughts, your mutilated body lays there
What just happened? Or why… No longer do you care
A blank stare in your eyes, not even a fragment of disgust
You simply lay on the ice cold ground… blood mixed with dust
A strange twist of fate, and you are given your life back
Your body cleansed, wounds attended to, no longer under attack
Smile, soar with joy, be happy… that’s what they all tell you
You are blessed, fortunate… It all seems untrue…
The only truth you know is the void, the blank stare…
The vacant space that inhabits you… an odd affair
They cleansed your wound of blood and tears
They forgot your mind, your soul… your scattered fears
Not cleansed at all, not sane, insane… just a frozen statue
Powerless to face your ‘normal’ life… if only they knew!
